It’s time you take full credit

Use the Arizona School Tax Credit to help GESD students get the education they deserve

Contribute to student programs and activities in the Glendale Elementary School District, and you’ll be paid back with a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Not only will you benefit, so will GESD students. Your tax credit donation will help them experience all school has to offer.

    Extracurricular activities

School is more than a classroom education. Students learn, grow and experience success through a variety of extracurricular activities and student-interest clubs. Active students have better grades, stay in school and develop leadership skills, or uncover talents they never knew they had.

    Education Tax Credit

Arizona tax law allows taxpayers a tax credit of up to $200 for individuals or up to $400 for married couples filing jointly. Tax credits allow any Arizona state resident to submit a donation and get a dollar-for-dollar return on their state taxes. You get every penny back when you file your state return either as a reduction in your tax bill or added to your refund. The tax credit is available to all taxpayers, not just those with children in public schools. Of course, tax credits can only be used to reduce your tax liability. Please consult a tax professional for more information.

    It’s easy!

If you want to support one or more of the programs listedbelow, simply write a check to the school or schools of your choice, or make your donation online. Mail the check or deliver it to the school or GESD District Office with your completed response card. You will receive a receipt to verify your contribution.

Next spring, simply claim your tax credit. Contributions postmarked by Dec. 31 of each year can be claimed on your taxes for the same year. Contributions postmarked between Jan. 1 and April 15 may be claimed on either the past year or current year — you choose!

Contributions to public schools have always been tax deductible. A tax deduction allows you to subtract the amount of the contribution from your taxable income. A tax credit is subtracted from the amount of taxes you owe. For more information call 623-237-7102.
