Welcome To Pre-School

  • All children can learn but not on the same day, in the same way.

    PHILOSOPHY

Glendale Elementary School District Preschool Programs offer developmentally appropriate practices designed to enhance the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of the individual child. We believe that the parent is the child’s most important teacher. We believe a culturally sensitive curriculum creates a nurturing learning environment. We believe that a child’s self-esteem, self-worth and confidence needs to be nurtured and developed though respect and understanding; that hands-on activities encourage children to solve problems, be successful and develop healthy interactions. We believe that through quality education and the family, school, and community working together we can meet the educational needs of children and those of future generations.

Goals and Objectives (activities and program)

Our Goals and Objectives are aligned with the Creative Curriculum and the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum Assessment System. The goals and objectives will be achieved through the use of developmentally appropriate classroom arrangement, materials and outside play equipment. Stories, songs, nursery rhymes, dramatic play, blocks, science, math, art, writing, games, and other hands on centers, based on individual readiness will be explored to build reasoning skills, creativity, and initiative. Children will be encouraged to express their ideas, thoughts, and feelings as well as comprehend others verbal and non-verbal communications. Each child will develop self-discipline, the ability to work with others, and self-confidence.
