The Maintenance and Operations Department had a very successful 2011/2012 school year.
Our Landscape staff has been working diligently on water conservation projects. Projects include, reducing non-essential turfed areas, installing plant materials indigenous to the southwest, reducing run times for sprinkler and bubbler systems, developed standards for pruning, installed design/build planters and are experimenting with wireless moisture controls.
Our Unit Managers, Night Leads and Cleaners have 1,455,352 square feet of space to care for. They change ceiling tile, paint walls and doorways, repair minor plumbing issues, along with a plethora of other jobs. Their overall effort allows our schools to maintain a welcoming environment for children, staff and community.
The Project Manager also completed a variety of projects, including the design of the new Glen F. Burton Elementary School building additions, security fencing, security camera installations and up-grades, a new chiller at Challenger Middle School, new parent drop-off parking and leveling playground fields.
