6th grade Social Studies includes:

Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, China, Greece, Rome, Native American Civilizations, and Geography.

 

Supplies Needed In Class Everyday.

Paper

A Notebook or Folder

At least 2 pens or pencils

 

At Home Supplies

Dictionary

Crayons/ Colored Pencils

 

Classroom Rules

Be in your seat prepared for class when the bell rings.

If you want to speak you must raise your hand.

Follow the teacher’s directions as soon as they are given.

Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.

Speak courteously to teachers, and other students.

Do nothing that keeps the teacher from teaching and the students (including yourself) from learning.

 

Consequences include:

            Warning

            Time Out

            Writing rules for homework

            Removal From Class

            Detention

            Referral

 

 

 

 

 

Assignments

            All papers must be turned in on time. Late work will be accepted for 50% credit if it turned in by Friday of the week it was assigned.  Papers must have the proper heading, (first and last name, period number and date) papers with no name will be thrown away.  When graded papers are returned, it is the students responsibility to hold them until report card time.

 

Absences

            Students who have an excused absence will receive an additional week to complete the assignment. 

 

Basic Procedures

  • All students are expected to help keep the classroom clean.

 

  • No locker passes, bathroom passes are for emergencies only.  Students are expected to use passing time wisely.

 

  • The teacher dismisses the class, the bell does not.

 

Agendas

           Students will fill out agendas every Monday for the entire week.  These agendas include information about weekly assignment and homework.  Parents are asked to check student agendas daily.
