I am very excited to be back in the Glendale Elementary School District (GESD)!
I am currently working as the school psychologist at William C. Jack and Don Mensendick schools.
Prior to coming to GESD, I worked in the Gilbert Public Schools.
I completed my internship during the 2007-2008 school year in Gilbert and was subsequently employed there for the following two years.
I love the field of school psychology because of the wonderful students, families, and educators I get to work with.
After receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University in 1994, I installed
telecommunications equipment for three years; I then obtained a job as a case manager for the behavioral health association of Maricopa County (then known as ComCare); and then sold real estate in the valley for five years. After these unfulfilling careers I obtained my teaching certificate in elementary education and was subsequently accepted to the Doctoral Program in School Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). I graduated from UNC with my doctorate in May of 2009.
Outside of work I enjoy playing competitive softball and working out at the gym when I have time. I am active in the field of school psychology and am currently serving as President-elect of the Arizona Association of School Psychologists. Additionally, I am a Board Member for the Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development which is a non-profit organization that provides housing services, programs, education, and case management for homeless youth in Maricopa County. I love spending time with my family including my two dogs Heidi and Quinn. I enjoy the mountains and the ocean, traveling, photography, and woodworking.
