8th Grade Promotion Information

General Information

Parents and their guests are invited to share in the Promotion Program on May 24th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Glendale American cafeteria.

Students will report to their homeroom classes at 8:10 a.m.  They will be brought to the cafeteria by their homeroom teacher for the Promotion Program.

Students must be in attendance at the beginning of the school day in order to participate in the Promotion Program.

Students will need to wear appropriate clothing for their promotion to school- they will not be allowed to change once they arrive.   Please see the dress code guidelines below for more information.

Students being recommended for retention or for summer school in order to be promoted will not participate in the Promotion Program.   The administration has the right to remove any student from participation due to inappropriate behavior.

At the conclusion of the Promotion Program, students may leave school with their parents/guardians or remain at school for the remainder of the day; school on Tuesday will also be optional for 8th graders who have been promoted.  No student will be allowed to leave campus Monday, or be absent on Tuesday without a parent/guardian written authorization.

Dress Code Guidelines

The above guidelines should allow students to select clothing from their existing wardrobe, and parents do not need to purchase new, expensive clothing.  Students who arrive at school inappropriately dresses will have to telephone home for a change of clothes, borrow clothing from the Nurse's office, or they will be denied participation. Student who are not in class by 8:15 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in our program.

Please see your homeroom teacher if you have any questionable outfits or concerns that need to be addressed before the date of our program.
