Character Counts
Students on the Bicentennial South campus are expected to be "Character Counts" people. Character Counts is a school-wide character development program. The following, “Six Pillars” are the basis of the program.
SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER
· TRUSTWORTHINESS- Be honest. Don’t steal or cheat. Be reliable. Build a good reputation and be loyal.
· RESPECT- Treat others with respect. Be tolerant of differences. Use good manners. Don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone. Be considerate of other’s feelings.
· RESPONSIBILITY- Do what you are supposed to do, persevere: Keep trying! Always do your best. Use self-control; be self-disciplined. Think before you act. Be accountable.
· FAIRNESS- Play by the rules. Take turns and share. Be open-minded; listen. Don’t take advantage of others. Don’t blame others carelessly.
· CARING- Be kind. Be compassionate. Express gratitude. Forgive others. Help people in need.
· CITIZENSHIP- Make your school and community better. Cooperate. Stay informed; vote. Be a good neighbor. Obey laws and rules. Respect authority.
