Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!

Hello Smith Families,

We look forward to seeing you all at our Meet the Teacher Night event this evening from 4pm-6pm!  Just a reminder, class lists will be finalized and posted in front of the school prior to the event and Kona Ice will be on sale.  We wanted to share some additional information with you about the school year.

First Day of School

Monday, August 8th is the first day of school.   Gates open at 7:45am.   We will allow families to walk their children to the cafeteria for breakfast and to their classrooms on the first day of school.  The playground will be closed.  There will be adults around campus with maps to help direct you.  Learning begins at 8:15am and all families will need to leave campus before the bell rings at that time.  Dismissal is at 3:15pm on full days, and 12:15pm on Early Release Wednesdays.  We ask for your patience at dismissal during the first week of school as staff members assist students in locating their family members.  Family members are not allowed inside the gates during dismissal.  Be sure to follow the directions you receive from staff members, who are identified by wearing their orange duty vests.

Families on Campus

Beginning on Tuesday, August 9th, Smith will be a closed campus, meaning, only students will be allowed beyond the gates at arrival and dismissal.  However, we are excited to be able to offer official volunteer opportunities and parent classes and activities on campus again this year.  You will receive more information about how to become a volunteer at our Meet the Teacher event.

Please be sure to follow Harold W. Smith School on Facebook so that you can continue to get the most recent updates.  We will see you all soon!
