The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Glendale Elementary School District for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The award is given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
This is the 28th consecutive year GESD has earned this recognition. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The District’s Annual Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report
“At a time when financial accountability and transparency has taken on greater importance than ever before, we are proud that Glendale Elementary is being recognized for its efforts to inform the public about where and how we spend taxpayer dollars,” said Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Auxiliary Services Mike Barragan. “I congratulate everyone in our business services department for all they did to earn this award.”
