• Principal’s Message

Dear Panther Students, Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Horizon Elementary School!

The highly, qualified staff at Horizon are committed to doing all we can to make this school year a successful experience for every child academically, socially and emotionally.  We are ALL in for ALL kids!

Horizon has unique experiences and programs to offer our students.  We are one of the Dual Language Programs in Glendale Elementary School District.  Some of our kindergarteners and first graders spend half their days immersed in learning Spanish.  We also are one of the Autism specialties schools.  We have three classrooms dedicated to teaching and supporting our exceptional children with Autism and then including them throughout our classrooms and campus.   We also offer math enrichment opportunities before school with Algebra I and Geometry for our junior high students.

Horizon is also known as the Be Kind School.  We teach our students to be kind and caring towards others in our day to day interactions.  To that end, we start each day with our Be Kind Panther Pledge:

“I pledge to do my best work every day,

to strive for academic success and

    to be kind to others.

    I am important to Horizon

    and so are you!”

We LOVE our Volunteers because they make a tremendous positive impact and enrich our educational programs. Please stop by the front office and ask for more information regarding volunteering at Horizon.

I look forward to partnering with you to make this an exciting and successful year for our students. Thank you in advance for your support and commitment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (623)-237-4010 or through email at sbalder@gesd40.org.

    Respectfully,

    Sarah L. Balder
